Children's Rights: NO MORE DRUGGING!
What are children's rights? Do they have rights? After all they are still at a stage of learning and developing and need constant attention and looking after. So should they have any rights?
And what about rights when it comes to education and the schooling system? Again, what rights should children have in education?
Let's look at it this way. Recall when you were a child. Recall how you were treated by adults or maybe teachers, doctors, or authoritative figures. Recall a time when you were treated unfairly, unjustly and without compassion and love. Or treated as an unequal. How did you feel?
Children, despite their age and vulnerable state, have just as much rights as adults and should be treated as such. This is also recognised in law. So what about when it comes to education and their rights in the education system and the use of drugging children in schools?
It is a fact that the influence of and drugging of children in schools has exploded beyond comprehension.
According to psychiatrist Dr. Peter Breggin the increase of drugging has increased 7 fold. He said: - "In a comparison between the years 1993-1998 and 2005-2009, prescriptions of antipsychotic drugs for per 100 children (0-13 years old) rose from 0.24 to 1.83. That's more than a sevenfold increase."
Dr. Breggin goes on further to say: "the drugging of children with antipsychotic drugs is a direct result of off-label (unapproved) uses promoted by the drug companies in cooperation with it unscrupulous psychiatrists and researchers in leadership roles in the profession."
So the increase in the use of antipsychotic drugs in children has increased!
So where does that leave children and their right not to be drugged? After all they are under the control of their parents or guardians. And parents and guardians are influenced by these so called "unscrupulous psychiatrists and researchers" albeit not directly. Teachers, school healthcare workers, doctors and practitioners are under the same influence, being given unscientific and unproven data by these aforementioned "professionals" to boost the sales and revenue of these drug companies.
More and more children in education are having their rights eroded by the forced, coerced, and insidious false promotion of these "professionals" to take psychiatric drugs such as Ritalin.
It's true that children have difficulties and problems and not just at school. It's true children can be fidgety or have a short attention span, get bored, get upset, have fights, run around excitedly. All these things are true. But isn't that just children, growing up, finding their feet in this new and exciting place with lots to do and be interested in?
So why are we drugging our children and allowing them to be drugged?
What Can Parents Do To Protect Their Children's Rights?
Being a parent is a great responsibility as you want your child to grow up healthy and strong. You will do whatever it takes to keep it that way, that's natural. So when your child is having problems at school and is "labelled" with a learning or mental disorder you would probably seek medical help wherever you could get it. Right?
The problem is that medical "help" will usually come in the form of psychiatric drugs being prescribed to your child with the potential and likelihood of becoming addicted and with the potential to aggravate your child's condition.
There are steps you can take and steps you should take to prevent your child from being medicated:
1) Get the facts and statistics about psychiatric drugs and medicine to make an informed decision.
2) Get a physical health check for your child from a nutritionist or dietitian for vitamin deficiencies.
3) See a doctor or alternative health practitioner to do a physical check-up of your child.
4) Use high quality supplements to balance any vitamin and mineral deficiencies your child has.
Important: If your doctor insists on medicating your child despite your doubts and wanting alternative remedies for your child's health then change doctors!
